YEREVAN. - By Armenian Parliament Speaker Samvel Nikoyan’s order, several teachers from Yerevan and the regions were awarded on the Mother Language Day for the contribution they paid towards preserving the Armenian language.

Congratulating the participants, the speaker said:

“In 1999 UNESCO founded the International Mother Language Day. Since 2005, Armenia also celebrates that holiday.”

Armenia’s Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan was also present during the ceremony.
