Italian composer Gioachino Antonio Rossini is the creator of the opera buffa, “The Barber of Seville.” And this perhaps is all that everyone knows about him today. This opera piece is known by virtually everyone, and it is considered as the crown of all Italian comic operas.
It is noteworthy that Rossini wrote this opera—which was based upon Pierre Beaumarchais’ masterpiece play—in just twenty days.
And February 29, 2012, marks the 220th birth anniversary of Gioachino Antonio Rossini, and, on that occasion, Google has prepared a special doodle.
