YEREVAN. – If the USA and Israel pull Azerbaijan into an anti-Iranian alliance then they might provoke unrest like in Guba, Armenian MP from the ruling Republican Party (RPA) Shirak Torosyan told the reporter of Armenian News-NEWS.am.

According to him, it is not a coincidence that distress occurred in the center of the historic Guba Khanate. The authorities of the local administration in Guba displayed Khanate habits which caused the protest of citizens even in the highly authoritarian regime of Azerbaijan. Even the opposition in Baku is aware of the demonstrations, Torosyan mentioned.

As Torosyan pointed out, if one were to look for foreign subtexts, then the distress might be provoked by the USA and Israel in order to pull Azerbaijan into an anti-Iranian alliance.

“In that case demonstrations might spread throughout the country. Otherwise, if one were to assume only the inner political conditions in the country, that is not much possible,” Torosyan added.
