YEREVAN. – Armenian businessmen Khachatur Sukiasyan—who has submitted an application to be registered as an MP candidate—on Wednesday received a letter of notice attesting that he resides in Armenia for the past five years [which is a requirement for registration as an MP candidate in Armenia], Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun daily writes, referring to the information it has received.
“[But]According to the rumors being circulated, Armenia’s authorities have decided not to register Khachatur Sukiasyan [as an MP candidate], arguing that he did not permanently reside in [the capital] Yerevan for the past five years. Perhaps, also because not only Khachatur Sukiasyan, but also his other brothers—Saribek, Eduard, and Robert Sukiasyan—likewise have picked up [such] letters of notice,” Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun writes.
