Azerbaijan’s musical circles have harshly criticized Turkish singer Sezen Aksu, who included the Armenian folk song “The Bride of Mountain” (“Sari Gelin”) in her new album.    

The Azerbaijani copyright agency stated that Sezen Aksu must ask for permission from them for the aforesaid song in Armenian, because the assertion that the song is Armenian is incorrect, the Turkish Haber 24 News Agency informs. 

To note, members of an Armenian choir are accompanying Aksu in performing “The Bride of Mountain” in Armenian.    

Sezen Aksu has numerous Armenian songs in her repertoire and she has performed them on many stages. And two years ago, she was not allowed to hold a concert in Azerbaijan, on the reasoning that there was an Armenian musician in her band.
