YEREVAN. – The opposition bloc Armenian National Congress (ANC) is again preparing a one-man list, headed by—ANC leader and Armenia’s First President—Levon Ter-Petrosyan, for the forthcoming parliamentary elections, the opposition People’s Party Chairman Tigran Karapetyan stated during a press conference on Thursday.

“So, where are ANC’s so many [political] parties? If it is ANC, [that is,] a congregation of parties, they must secure pluralism. But no; the same [thing] again. We see a person, a leader who is the director of that situation. But there also are opposition elements within ANC,” he said.

Tigran Karapetyan also recalled his words that ANC will collapse when the matter of proportional election list will come up, and he added that ANC will enter the parliament in a debased condition, with a mere five or six MPs. “[But] There also are good opposition boys within ANC, but presidents, former officials are heading [it]. They cannot be an opposition,” Karapetyan concluded.
