The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) ruled in favor of Turkish citizen Mehmet Ali Okur, who had filed a lawsuit with ECHR against Turkey.
With its ruling, ECHR obliged Turkey to pay 15,600-euro compensation to Okur, Firat News Agency informs.
In 2005, Mehmet Ali Okur was detained, on suspicion of committing a crime, and was tortured. He subsequently filed complaints, with the Turkish courts, against the violations committed against him, but did not receive any results. So, Okur had applied to ECHR.
