GLENDALE. - Dozens of Armenian parishioners of St. Mary’s Armenian Apostolic Church gathered in Glendale on Sunday protesting against the deportation of one of the priests as his visa had expired.

As the protestors inform, the church did not take any measures in order to extend the visa of Fr. Rev. Barthev Gulumian, Glendale News-Press informs.

Gulumian was removed from his post in Glendale, where he had worked during the past 6 years, to Venezuela.

The protestors stated that the church did not want to see Gulumian in Glendale.

At the same time, the Western Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church issued a statement in which it is stated that they are forced to obey US law according which Gulumian must leave the USA at least for some time.
