YEREVAN. – Armenian capital Yerevan’s Electoral District No. 10 Election Commission did not register well-known businessman and opposition member Khachatur Sukiasyan as an MP candidate for the upcoming National Assembly elections.

To note, Khachatur Sukiasyan’s brother, Saribek, has likewise submitted MP nomination documents to the same electoral district.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, Khachatur Sukiasyan had applied to Electoral District No. 10 Election Commission, and asked the latter to reach a decision, as quickly as possible, with respect to his MP candidacy for the upcoming parliamentary elections.

“I applied to you, on March 17, 2012, and asked to not to consider the Police Passport and Visa Department’s letter and to register me as a deputy candidate.

The Electoral District No. 10 Election Commission has not reached a [corresponding] decision to date.

Foreseeing the outcome of the Electoral District No. 10 Election Commission’s decision, [and] considering that in my conviction the negative decision will be reached as late as possible, I ask that the decision with respect to my affair be reached as soon as possible,” Khachatur Sukiasyan’s petition specifically read.
