YEREVAN. – Armenia’s cable television service and usage profits comprised AMD 243.5 million (approx. US$ 620,925) in March 2012, which is 2.4 times more than in March 2011 and 2.6 times more than February, the National Statistical Service report informs.   

The cable television growth is the greatest in Armenia’s communications sector. The total proceeds from television—not including cable TVs—programs were AMD 633 million (approx. $1,614,150) in March 2012, which is an 8.6-percent rise from March 2011. 

The radio program profits made up AMD 196 million (approx. $499,800), which is a 0.7-percent growth.

But the statistics indicate a decline in Internet access. The profits reached close to AMD 2.2 billion (approx. $ 5,610,000) in March 2012, which is a 2.3-percent drop from March 2011.
