U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern and his spouse Libby told about their impressions about a four-day trip to Armenia’s southern regions of Vayots Dzor and Syunik on the embassy video blog.

They said it was a beautiful drive and they got a different view of Armenia seeing this green area.

The Ambassador pointed out three basic purposes of their visit. The first was to get to know a little bit better many great partners that the embassy had there. They met with the local authorities and civil society representatives.

Secondly, the Ambassador and his wife wanted to see how U.S. government programs are working in the region. They visited a couple of cultural projects and spent some time with Peace Corps volunteers.

The thirds goal was to see the mood of people there ahead of the May 6 parliamentary elections.
