The co-chair of Kurdish Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) Selahattin Demirtaş commented on the Turkish PM Recep Tayyp Erdogan’s statement on wishing to see his party [Justice and Development Party] members as Mayors of Diyarbakir, Van and Sinak.

Demirtaş told the journalists that Kurdish party also might want to win the mayoral elections in Paris, Rome and New York, but it is not going to happen, of course, Turkish Milliyet reports. For Erdogan winning elections in Diyarbakir, Van and Sinak is as easy as for the Kurdish party to win elections in Paris, Rome and New York, which is – almost impossible, he said.

The overwhelming majority of citizens in these three cities are Kurds and local administration is elected mainly from the Kurdish parties.
