YEREVAN. – Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) leader Gagik Tsarukyan will head the PAP group in the parliament, while Naira Zohrabyan will be the secretary for the party, PAP member, businessman and former deputy Speaker Samvel Balasanyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The party held its first session on Wednesday after which Balasanyan said he would not be a deputy speaker.

The reason for his resignation is the PAP’s decision to reject any office of political character in the National Assembly.

The session discussed technical and organizational issues. Gagik Tsarukyan congratulated everyone on the first working day in the Parliament on Thursday, Zohrabyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Tsarukyan will not attend the mandate distribution ceremony due to numerous meetings on Wednesday. Another PAP member Vartan Oskanian told the agency that they had discussed working issues during the session.

Regarding the next year’s presidential elections and the PAP’s participation with separate candidate, both Zohrabyan and Oskanian said it is early to speak about it.
