YEREVAN.- US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s visit to the region is very important as it is showing that regional situation arouse concerns, ARFD member Giro Manoyan told reporters on Friday.

Armenian Cause (Hay Dat) Office Chief Giro Manoyan linked Clinton’s regional visit to relations with Iran.

According to him, Armenian government should demand State Department’s clarified position on the Karabakh conflict.

“They must clarify whether Washington is confident that the Karabakh conflict should be based on nations’ right to self-determination or territorial integrity as it is mentioned in the recent NATO declaration. U.S. must clarify it position, otherwise Yerevan must consider whether format of talks is acceptable,” he said.

Manoyan believes no breakthrough is expected in the Karabakh peace process in the near future. He also considers that Azerbaijan is not ready for war.
