YEREVAN. – From January to April 2012, 33 tractors were assembled in Armenia, while in 2011, no tractor was assembled, Armenia’s National Statistics Service informs.

To note, Chin-Van Company in Vanadzor is the only tractor producing company in Armenia. The tractor production was started in 2009 but then stopped. The company assembles tractors with parts that are being imported from China and Belarus, the director of the company told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The power of the tractors is 20-100 hp, the prices are $ 8,500 – $22,000. To note, the tractors collected with Belarusian parts are more expensive than those collected with Chinese parts, although there is not any significant difference between the parts.

A certain number of tractors was exported to Georgia.
