YEREVAN.- The parties to the Syrian conflict are not ready to sit at the negotiating table, expert in Islamic studies Sargis Grigoryan told reporters in Yerevan.

He believes that in terms of balance of forces, Bashar Asad has enough potential and will be supported by considerable part of the Syrian society.

According to him, negotiations is the right option to overcome the conflict.

“However, under current circumstances, it would be impossible to urge the parties to sit at the negotiating table. They are not ready yet,” he added.

Compromise is also one of the ways to resolution of the conflict and it may also include resignation of  Bashar Asad.
