YEREVAN.- Armenia is holding talks with Russia’s Gazprom on gas price supplied to the country.

Spokesperson for Armenian Energy Minister Lusine Harutunyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that additional information would be provided as soon as the final results of talks are available.

In March, the management of Gazprom appealed to the Russian government asking to increase the gas price for consumers from Russia and the CIS. The Russian giant has suffered losses of approximately $2 billion due to increase of mineral extraction tax.

Gazprom is supplying gas to Europe at an average of $415 per 1,000 cubic meters. Approximately the same price is used for Ukraine. The rest of the CIS states buy gas at $200-300.
