Armenian City of Ijevan still feels the touch of pouring rains and storm that occurred on Monday.

This situation will remain the same until the Government takes relevant measures to help the victims.

The rain accompanied with storm has paralyzed the city of Ijevan.

The storm has damaged the roofs of multi-storied buildings and private houses, broke windows and uprooted up to 50 heavy trees.

“Everything happened at once, we were sitting at a café and suddenly trees fell down on us, water covered every inch of land. We were feeling like in hell,” one of Ijevan residents told Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter.

“The central streets of the city have been damaged most of all and a special committee has been created that will specify the size of damage,” mayor of Ijevan Vardan Ghalumyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

In his words, they would not be able to recover the losses by themselves and they needed the support of the government.

On Friday, the size of damages will become known and be presented to the governing body of Tavush region and also the Government of Armenia.

While the government is thinking of measures, people already started repairing their houses.
