Musician and singer Suren Arustamyan, who represented Armenia at the “New Wave 2012” Song Contest final, which wrapped Sunday in Jūrmala, Latvia, was not among the top-three prize winners.

The top prize of 50,000 euros was awarded to Russian singer Niloo while the second- and third-place contestants—from Italy and Ukraine—took home 30,000 and 20,000 euros respectively.

On the third—and final—day of the event, Suren Arustamyan performed “Next to You” by Brandon Stone. To note, Arustamyan was in eighth place after the first- and second-day competitions.

A total of 16 performers from 14 countries competed at the “New Wave 2012” Song Contest.

The contestants competed in three categories: International Hit, National Hit, and Original Song.
