YEREVAN.- The renovation of Odzun church, basilica dating back to the sixth century, has kicked off in Armenia’s Lori Region.

The project is carried out by a private organization in accordance with the memorandum signed by the Armenian Apostolic Church, Ministry of Culture and “Hovhannes Imastaser Catholicos Odznetsi” benevolent foundation.

Restoration will be carried out by LevGug company which won tender this May. The residents of Odzun and nearby villages will be hired. Italian architects will be invited for consultation, the company said. The works will be completed in 18 working months.
