YEREVAN.- Effectiveness of the MP’s work should not be assessed by counting hours spent in the parliament’s session hall, said MP from Republican Party Artak Zakaryan.

Interestingly, not more than 15 MPs out of 131 were present at the 2012 budget hearings held this week in the parliament.

“MP’s work on the budget is not just a physical presence in the hall. This is a meeting with representatives of the government, introduction and discussion of various proposals. Personally I was absent during two budget hearings because was working outside the session hall,” he told the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent.

MP from ARF Dashanktsutyun Artyusha Shahbazian considers that vacant parliamentary seats can be explained by the fact that adoption of budget without significant changes is absolutely predetermined.
