YEREVAN. – By using the Huys (Hope) Program, the Armenian seismologists are studying earthquake prediction, Hrachya Petrosyan, Head of the Armenian National Seismic Protection Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) stated during a seismology conference held at MES on Monday.

Specifically, he noted that the history of earthquakes is being studied from the Program’s database, on whose basis future tremors would be possible to predict.

“We cannot yet accurately predict the location, time, and magnitude of the quakes, but we aspire to develop such mechanism. Our database contains data for a mere two years, but we wish to make an analysis as complete as possible,” Hrachya Petrosyan said.
