Armenia’s Embassy in Georgia and the Georgian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church jointly organized, in Tbilisi on Monday, a commemorative evening entitled “Confronting History: Sumgait, Khojaly…” 

Prior to the event, however, a requiem service was held, at Tbilisi’s Saint Etchmiadzin Armenian Church, in memory of the innocent victims of the Armenian pogroms in Sumgait, Baku, and Maragha. 

And during the commemorative evening, Armenia’s Ambassador to Georgia, Hovhannes Manukyan, and Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanian, Primate of the Georgian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, delivered keynote addresses.  

Also, segments were screened from the documentary devoted to Sumgait pogroms.

And in the second part of the event, the audience examined the incidents in Khojaly, official Baku’s falsifying of the real facts, and the propaganda being carried out in that direction. And segments were shown from the documentary that presents the true picture of the Khojaly incidents.
