YEREVAN. – One of the Government buildings—located at Armenian capital city Yerevan’s Republic Square—where the Transport and Communication Ministry and the well-known post office operate, will become a hotel very soon, Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun daily writes.

“The hotel’s future proprietors already have reached arrangement with Armenia’s authorities, and Ararat Hyatt Hotel will be constructed there shortly.

To note, this [Hyatt] brand has quite a reputation in Moscow, where Armenian and Russian oligarchs, state officials, and ‘gray cardinals of the shadow’ love to meet with one another.

The hotel in Moscow—[and,] apparently, also in Yerevan—belongs to former [Armenian National Assembly] NA MP Samvel Sargsyan who, before becoming an MP, was Governor of [the] Vayots Dzor [Region].

According to rumors, the constructors will preserve the building’s exterior facade,” Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun writes.
