YEREVAN. – According to the information received from the Armenian business community, several major Russian companies are showing an interest, in recent times, in the procedures for the state budget purchases that are conducted in Armenia, Haykakan Zhamanak daily reported.

“Hundreds of millions of dollars in purchases are made annually by the Armenia state budget.

“[And] after Armenia’s becoming a member in the EEU [i.e., the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union], the participation of Russian companies in these procurement tenders shall be much simplified. And the latter can simply crush our [Armenian] companies with their financial capacity,” Haykakan Zhamanak wrote.
