YEREVAN. – The Customs Service of the Ministry of Finance of Armenia has recently fined Artashat Cannery, the company belonging to the families of Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan and Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan, Zhoghovurd daily reported.

“Sergo Karapetyan’s son, Vachagan Karapetyan, holds the position of manager at the company. Zhoghovurd has found out that on June 10 of last year, he declared self-adhesive labels in the company’s name with an export regimen, but he did not present the product to the respective division of the Customs Service within the specified time.

“As a result, the Customs Service launched an investigation on January 12. [And] it was decided to fine the minister’s son in the amount of 50 thousand drams [approx. $109],” Zhoghovurd wrote.
