YEREVAN. – The emigration of the people virtually has not stopped in the years of Armenia’s independence since 1991, and the emigration rates have sharply increased especially in recent years, Zhoghovurd daily reported. 

“In official statistics, the summed up number of Armenian citizens is recorded and submitted with the ‘permanent population’ formulation.  

“[And] based on the official statistics—the Armenian National Statistical Service—data, it turns out that Armenia has ‘lost’ 453 thousand citizens within the last 14 years,” Zhoghovurd wrote.
