YEREVAN. – The political opposition in Armenia has failed to carry out regime change. The authorities used their administrative and power tools to prevent it, Aravot daily reported in its editorial.
“[But] the authorities of [First and second Presidents] Levon Ter-Petrosyan and Robert Kocharyan previously conducted themselves in the same way, and even with a more ‘powerful’ manner. So, all kinds of complaints by the supporters of the first and second presidents are not genuine.
“Those who are leaving [the power] should not cast a shadow on those staying [in power] and sow doubts among people as to who were the honest ideological warriors and who [were] the mischief-making-disuniting persons who were pursuing ‘totally different’ objectives, Aravot wrote.
