YEREVAN. – Well-informed sources report that, in the coming days, ex-FM and non-pro-government Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) MP Vartan Oskanian is going to make a statement about renouncing his parliamentary seat and leaving the PAP, Haykakan Zhamanak daily reported.

“Even though Oskanian was number two in the PAP’s proportional [election] list and therefore he can leave the [PAP National Assembly] Faction without giving up his [parliamentary] mandate, he prefers to leave both the party and the parliament.

“Our sources claim that Oskanian will also leave politics and engage in research activities in the coming years. The option of emigration from Armenia is not ruled out either,” Haykakan Zhamanak wrote.
