YEREVAN. – Zhamanak daily spoke with director Eduardo Lorenzo Ochoa of the European Friends of Armenia (EuFoA) organization. Below is an excerpt from the interview.

“Don’t you think that a differentiated approach toward our country [, Armenia,] will not improve Armenia-EU [i.e. European Union] relations?

“European Union-Armenia relations are progressing based on the [EU] FA [i.e. Foreign Affairs] Council conclusions that were adopted on October 15, 2012. 

“By the way, Armenia does all the talking about a differentiated approach when it comes to relations with the European Union because Armenia is a country which has features that you would not find in any other European Neighbourhood [Policy] country. 

“In this case, it is apparent that this new approach will open new opportunities before, and give many advantages to, Armenia.   

“[But] Armenia’s challenge remains taking advantage, in time, of the opportunities that will be in the future.”
