YEREVAN. – Although there is a lot of talk in Armenia these days about declaring amnesty in the country ahead of the centennial of the Armenian Genocide, there is still no clear official information on this matter, Zhamanak daily reported.

“The Ministry of Justice refuses to comment on whether or not there will be amnesty recalling that this is solely the prerogative of the President, and the presidential [office] is silent.

“According to our information[, however], there will be amnesty, and a relevant group of specialists are working these days on the text of the amnesty,” Zhamanak wrote.
