YEREVAN. – Haykakan Zhamanak daily has learned that one of the most influential figures in the Armenian community of Saint Petersburg, Russia, Vyacheslav Lazarian, passed away two days ago, at the age of 67, in a Moscow hospital, the daily reported.

“Lazaryan held management positions for about 25 years at the Saint Petersburg-based large company, Sovavto, which is known in Russia and which conducts international transportation to countries around the world, with more than 700 passenger vehicles and trucks. Lazaryan managed this company in the last 10-15 years of his life.     

“He was born in Drmbon village of Artsakh’s [i.e. Nagorno-Karabakh] Martakert Region. He had brain cancer. The businessman died not two weeks after his surgery,” Haykakan Zhamanak wrote.
