YEREVAN. – The Shanghai-Hong Kong flight ticket of Armenia’s Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian cost 1 million 693 thousand drams (approx. $3,545) on the country’s state budget, Zhoghovurd daily reported.  

“Of course, half of this amount would not have been spent if Edward Nalbandian had not considered flying economy class to be beneath his honor.   

“The thing is that this price is the cost of one business class ticket, whereas the economy class ticket of the same flight had cost 850 thousand drams [approx. $1,780].   

“That is, people are doing everything with their actions so that Armenia and its population get poorer day-by-day, and as their reward in exchange for this, they travel exclusively business class,” Zhoghovurd wrote.
