YEREVAN. – Haykakan Zhamanak daily has learned that in the last ten days of April, the Central Bank (CB) of Armenia is going to carry out large-scale US dollar purchases from the country’s foreign exchange market so as not to permit a sharp increase in value of the Armenian national currency, the dram, the daily reported.

“Due to a large flow of foreigners [into the country] on the [April 24] centenary of the [Armenian] Genocide, the [country’s] market will be overflowed with foreign currency. And if the CB does not take action, the dram will sharply increase in value,” Haykakan Zhamanak wrote.
