YEREVAN. – This year a new phenomenon has begun emerging when exporting goods from the Republic of Armenia (RA) to the Russian Federation (RF), Zhoghovurd daily reported.

“News came to Zhoghovurd that, primarily in the case of perishable goods, the businessmen of the Russian side, or in other words the buyer side, offer companies exporting Armenian goods prices that are several times lower than the market, being convinced that the Armenian businessman will be compelled to agree to any term.

“The thing is that the Armenian businessmen are unable to sell their goods at a higher price in Russia (…), and they cannot take [these goods] to the RF’s neighboring countries (…), hence they agree to any conditions so as not to return [these goods] to Armenia.

“As a result of this modus operandi, the goods turnover from the RA to the RF has reached virtually zero level,” Zhoghovurd wrote.
