YEREVAN. – Hovik Abrahamyan, ever since being appointed the Prime Minister of Armenia, has harnessed a special effort to renovate the government’s building, rooms and halls, Zhamanak daily reported.
“According to Hetq [news agency], 214 million drams [approx. $446,535] were spent on the renovation of solely three halls.
“Gyumri [City] Council member Levon Barseghyan responded that he considers such expenditure illogical.
‘“If there was a need for technical and innovation repair, they should have done that, installed wires. But it’s absurd to spend 214 million [drams] on making Rococo and Baroque. With that money, it would have been easily possible to buy eighty apartment flats in Gyumri, and provide [them] to the homeless,’ Barseghyan said,” Zhamanak wrote.
