YEREVAN. – The assets of Gagik Khachatryan, the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Armenia (RA), have decreased by more than one million dollars last year, Haykakan Zhamanak daily reported.

“His [financial] statement, which he submitted to the ethics committee of the RA senior officials, attests to this.

“Moreover, Gagik Khachatryan did not purchase any valuable property during that time.

“Thus, according to the statement, Khachatryan just spent that money.

“To note, you need to spend 1.4 million [Armenian] drams, or 2.8 thousand [US] dollars, daily, to spend more than one million dollars over the course of one year.

“According to the statement, Khachatryan’s salary totaled 8 million 202 thousand drams [approx. $17,134] during the year, decreasing by 15 thousand drams [approx. $31], as compared to the previous year,” Haykakan Zhamanak wrote.
