YEREVAN. – According to the data which the Central Bank of the Russian Federation (CB RF) released on Tuesday, in 2014, the private remittances sent from Russia to Armenia through the banking system have totaled 1 billion 752 million US dollars, Haykakan Zhamanak daily reported.
“[Accordingly,] Armenia came in sixth place among the CIS countries in the volume of money transfers from Russia to abroad.
“Uzbekistan is in first place: 5.8 billion dollars. (…). Azerbaijan is 7th with an indicator of 1.3 billion dollars.
“[But] it is noteworthy that the data which the CB RF issued do not match the CB RA [i.e. the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia] data, according to which the volume of remittances from the RF totaled 1.5 billion dollars in 2014,” Haykakan Zhamanak wrote.
