YEREVAN. – Major developments are expected in the near future around large businessmen in the Republic of Armenia (RA), Zhoghovurd daily reported.

“The thing is that [President] Serzh Sargsyan failed to convince representatives of the Armenian community living in the US to invest the amount of money needed for the development of the RA’s economy. That’s why the only option for filling the RA state budget remains the option of ‘yanking’ money from the Armenian businessmen.

“So, inspections will be conducted in the near future in the facilities belonging to Armenia-based oligarchs, which [i.e. the inspections] will end with major fines,” Zhoghovurd wrote.
