YEREVAN. – The Prime Minister of Armenia, Hovik Abrahamyan, made a rather noteworthy statement at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting, reported Zhoghovurd daily.
“He, making reference to a medium-term program, said that a one-percent economic growth is envisioned for [Armenia in] 2015. But at the same time, the PM [also] said: ‘I’m convinced that there will be at least 2-3 percent economic growth.’
“That is, (…) this year’s economic growth [for the country] will be lower than the 4.1 percent envisioned by the Law on the 2015 State Budget.
“But the PM’s following words are more noteworthy: ‘An end must be put to such empty talk that we [i.e. Armenia] will have an economic downturn. Some politicians’ and political forces’ wish that the government will fail and an economic downturn will be recorded will not come true,’” wrote Zhoghovurd.
