YEREVAN. – The sources of Hraparak daily have informed that the backstage of the Armenian authorities is in an intensive search for how to resolve the dilemma of the demands of the demonstrators at Baghramian Avenue in capital city Yerevan—and who demand the cancelation of the recent decision to raise the price of electricity in the country—, reported the daily.

“Amid this economic collapse, any kind of concession is just impossible, and [therefore] an attempt is made to find the middle ground.

“Some insist that a package should be offered according to which, in the case of a seven-dram increase in the price [of electricity], the government will see to it that the [prices of] other products will not increase with a domino effect.

“There are also proponents of making radical concessions. Accordingly, the authorities, jointly with Russia, are attempting to ‘smash’ the new [electricity] tariffs upon the new wealthy buyer of the ENA [i.e. the Electric Networks of Armenia Company], to which the latter does not yet agree.

‘“[But] maybe one day he will be convinced,’ hope the government sources,” wrote Hraparak.
