YEREVAN. – The grape growers and procurement organizations of Armenia are in a state of panic in connection with these organizations’ purchasing of grapes from the grape growers, reported Hraparak daily.

“This year’s grape harvest is too much; the purveyors do not have money; they have not yet paid the loans received in the past for that purpose.

‘“Because the EEU [i.e. the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union] caused us problems, hit the brandy business, and the government is ‘choking [us]’ [saying] not to discontinue the procurement process,’ said a businessman.

“And they are demanding, just as they are choking them to make procurements, let the Prime Minister ‘choke’ the banks in the same way that they give them loans, ‘despite their non-paid-off loans,’” wrote Hraparak.
