YEREVAN. – The Russian Federation (RF) has increased its investments in Azerbaijan’s economy by 1.7 times in the first half of the current year, as compared to the same period last year, reported Chorrord Ishkhanutyun daily.

“This fact is noteworthy in the sense that [the Republic of] Armenia’s [RA] strategic ally Russia, which is also [Armenia’s] main economic partner—also in the EEU [i.e. the Eurasian Economic Union]—has reduced its investments in the RA in recent years.

“The 2015 first quarter data are so far publicized according to which, the direct RF investments in Armenia have dropped by 65 percent, and in general, the RA investments have decreased by half,” wrote Chorrord Ishkhanutyun.
