YEREVAN. – ‘“Putting the demand for reopening Nairit [chemical plant in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia,] is illogical,’ told us Gagik Nersisyan, former director of the plant,” reported Zhamanak daily.

“To our query: ‘Is it true that the [Nairit] employees’ [outstanding] salaries were paid from the proceeds from the sale of Vorotan [Hydro] Cascade?’ Nersisyan responded: ‘Well, they already are probably sure that the amount of this transaction will be transferred. They took and gave the people’s money from somewhere. And when the money of this transaction is given, they’ll put it [back] to its place. And if this not the case, the Prime Minister, the President [probably] have summoned a couple of people from the ‘goodfellas,’ said ‘15 million [US dollar] money is needed, each of you give this much money,’ and the ‘goodfellas’ paid. It’s not ruled out,’” wrote Zhamanak.
