YEREVAN. – Haykakan Zhamanak daily has learned that Hayasi Company, which is linked to Armenia’s opposition Orinats Yerkir (Rule of Law) Party Chairman Arthur Baghdasaryan, is facing financial problems, and Baghdasaryan wants to sell the plant, but he cannot find a buyer, reported the daily.

“Yesterday [i.e. Friday], the plant director was not there. And accountant Varduhi Balbabyan, to our query ‘is it true that Hayasi has 12 million [US] dollars of debt and now there are plans to sell it,’ responded: ‘No, it’s not so, the rest…I have no intention to say something to you. Speak with the director. They are current debts. [And] which plant has not taken a loan? It has a loan, and it’s paying [it].’

“To our specifying question ‘I believe the word is about the 12 million dollars, no?’ Balbabyan responded: ‘Where did you [get] that information from?’” wrote Haykakan Zhamanak.
