YEREVAN. – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s visit to Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan, passed somewhat quietly, reported Zhamanak daily.

“Lavrov probably demanded, or requested, as little public event as possible from the Azerbaijan leadership to ensure himself [from the incident that had occurred before the news conference during his last visit to Baku]. As a result, [there was] very limited information about the visit.

“Perhaps the most noteworthy—or the most specific—circumstance can be labeled the expectation of participation, which Lavrov said regarding Azerbaijan, in the military industrial exhibition to held in September in [the Russian city of] Sverdlovsk; that is, by and large, Lavrov offered weapons to Azerbaijan in Baku,” wrote Zhamanak.
