YEREVAN. – There was a stir Wednesday among members of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia National Assembly (NA) Faction, since they have realized that the parliamentary debates regarding the new draft Constitution will last longer than they had expected, reported Zhoghovurd daily.

“[But] it is apparent that the authorities will do everything to conclude the discussions on the new draft Constitution within the framework of this four-day [NA session being convened this week]. And in this case, they will put the document to vote in the next four-day [NA session] to be held on October 5,” wrote Zhoghovurd.

The new draft Constitution of Armenia is debated in the NA. Pursuant to this draft, the country will make a transition from a semi-presidential to a parliamentary system of governance.
