YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd daily has learned that on October 26, renowned Armenian politician, the late Karen Demirchyan, will be posthumously awarded—but not by the Armenian authorities—for his great contribution to the recognition of the Armenian Genocide, reported the daily.

“The thing is that there is a pan-Russian commission formed in Moscow on the matter of Armenian Genocide recognition, and it is going to award medals to those prominent politicians who have had a major contribution to the matter of recognition of the Armenian Genocide. And this very commission made a decision to posthumously award Karen Demirchyan.

“To remind, only a month ago, [Armenian President] Serzh Sargsyan posted medals on the suits of several businessmen of Armenia who had become rich with shadowy ways, whereas Karen Demirchyan was not remembered in any format. Had he done nothing in the matter of the recognition of the genocide?” wrote Zhoghovurd.
