YEREVAN. – Something unprecedented occurred in an Armenian capital Yerevan polyclinic on March 23. A patient, who was waiting his turn in front of the polyclinic physician’s office to undergo a medical examination, died on the very chair he was sitting, Haykakan Zhamanak daily writes.

“According to rumors, he was not administered medical assistance in timely fashion, and perhaps this was the reason for his death.

[But] The polyclinic [staff] strictly denies that the patient died because of waiting for too long and not receiving medical assistance on time. They state that he had a serious illness, he died in lightning speed, and this could have occurred at any time.

As they informed the newspaper from the polyclinic, the deceased was 73-year-old Herbert Manukyan, who had come to the cardiologist to undergo a check-up and to receive necessary treatment and medication,” Haykakan Zhamanak writes.
