Haykakan Zhamanak: Who will be Armenia’s next PM?
May 19, 2012YEREVAN. – Certain Russian circles are attempting to convince Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan to choose “one of the two Karens” as the country’s new PM, Haykakan Zhamanak daily writes.
“This refers to [capital city] Yerevan’s former Mayor, Vice President of Gazprombank [of Russia], Karen Karapetyan, and Serzh Sargsyan’s former Chief if Staff, [National Assembly] NA MP, Karen Karapetyan.
Our sources attest that the Prosperous Armenia [Party] is not against this option either.
And according to our sources, Serzh Sargsyan has not yet made his final decision.
The serving PM’s [Tigran Sargsyan] candidacy is acceptable for him for the international ‘face.’ But he is concerned by Tigran Sargsyan’s low rating within the republic,” Haykakan Zhamanak writes.
